Professional Formula Adult Inactive dog Food is a super premium dog food with the highest digestibility and palatability. Adult Inactive is recommended for the less active adult dog, and for mature dogs that need to lose weight. Adult Inactive does not contain high amounts of fiber or "filler", so it is highly digestible, producing a small amount of stool. By reducing the caloric density of the food, the less active dog can still eat an amount of food that is satisfying, without eating excessive amounts of protein, fat and calories. Adult Inactive contains carefully selected chicken by-product meal as a source of protein. None of the protein in this product is derived from soybean or corn gluten meal. The primary source of starch is rice, which is one of the most digestible sources of starch, and contributes to the excellent digestibility of this product. A major portion of the fiber in this product is from beet pulp, which aids in the production of short chain fatty acids in the gut. Short chain fatty acids are important in maintaining a healthy digestive tract, and help improve stool quality. High quality poultry fat is added to the food as a source of energy, and as a source of essential fatty acids important for shiny hair and good skin condition. No artificial flavoring, coloring agents or preservatives are added to this product. Adult Inactive contains extra vitamin E and vitamin C for added health benefits, especially in times of stress. FEEDING DIRECTIONS: When switching foods, take about one week to make the transition to Professional Formula Adult Inactive. Each day, increase the amount of Professional Formula Adult Inactive fed, and decrease the amount of the previous diet. Feed the proper amount of Professional Formula Adult Inactive to maintain proper body condition, or to promote weight loss if needed. For weight loss, feed the amount required per day based on the ideal body weight of the dog, not the current body weight. For example, if the dog currently weighs 75 lb, but ideally should weigh 50 lb, feed 3 cups per day..
